The Education Pipeline: Investing in America’s Future Teachers

Crisis: Not enough Educators are coming to school for the educator!
We face a teacher exodus, overworked, underpaid, undervalued. If we do nothing, the next generation will be less skilled and less prepared.

• Education as National Investment: Create a Federal Educator Pipeline Fund to recruit, train, and retain teachers focusing on math, science, literacy, and early childhood.
• Tax Exemptions for Educators:  I will fight for;
  • 100% federal student loan forgiveness for teachers after 5 years of direct service.
  • State and Federal income tax credits for all public workers, including first responders, Police, firefighters, and  K–12 educators.
  • Childcare credit and education materials deductions expanded for all educators.
• Homeownership for Educators:
  • Create a Teacher HomeStart Program offering down-payment assistance, low-interest mortgages, and housing stipends for teachers who serve in our school districts.
• Education Degree Incentives:
  • College students majoring in Education receive annual tuition tax credits.
  • National Teach-for-America, Stay-in-America fellowship recruits youth from MN-02 to study education and return home to teach and support the next generation of scholars.
